Meet the ‘Love’ Collection!
I’m so excited to introduce my first collection of greetings cards as well as my first ever blog post! I thought writing this post would be a good way to show the inspiration behind the collection and the thoughts and ideas I had when developing these cards.
I have always been such a huge lover of greetings cards, wrapping paper and stationary and whenever it is a special occasion I usually spend a long time searching for the card that is just right for that person. A few years ago I did a ‘love language quiz’ online, unsurprisingly my love language is Words of Affirmation. The thought that goes into writing meaningful messages in cards as well as receiving them is so special and something that I think is even more important now when meaningful connections have been lost slightly. Developing my own collection of cards was one of the first things I wanted to do when building my online shop of products, I love cards and I love bold, colourful print design so what better way than to combine the two.
My first thought was that I knew I wanted these cards to be positive and uplifting, so naturally my source of inspiration was florals as this is a universal element that brings many of us joy. I hand painted the designs and using vibrant colours created 4 different designs to work together as a collection.
The sentimental element of receiving cards was also an important part of developing this collection. I have always been such a hoarder when it comes to cards I have received, I hate throwing them away and I just have boxes full of them from over the years. I wanted to create cards that could be re-used once they were received and be kept and framed as mini pieces of art or motivational prints. This reduces waste as most cards are single use, but also makes them even more special as they can be a reminder of the loved one who sent you the card whenever you see it framed in your home.
I decided to keep the messages on the front of the card simple, focusing on one single word for each including Love, Always, Forever and Happy. This means the cards can be used for many different occasions and it allows you to write the meaningful and sentimental words inside. I think these would be perfect for Valentine’s Day, Galentines, Anniversary, Mother’s Day, Birthdays or to just show someone special that you love them on any day of the year.

Cards are A6 in size and printed in the UK onto thick recycled, FSC certified card. They are available to buy individually or as a set of 4.
